When Does Dr. Booth Recommend a Dental Crown?

A crown completely covers a damaged tooth, protecting the integrity of its root and restoring both full chewing function and aesthetics. The shape and form of the crown closely mimics your natural tooth, and Dr. Booth customizes the shade of your new tooth so the crown blends seamlessly with your smile.

Dr. Booth might recommend a dental crown in these situations:

  • To restore a broken tooth
  • To replace a large, broken filling
  • To rebuild a tooth that has had root canal treatment
  • To cover a tooth with cosmetic flaws
  • To strengthen a tooth that’s cracked or fractured

When Do You Need a Dental Bridge?

If you’re missing one or more adjacent teeth, and you’re not a candidate for dental implants, a dental bridge in Huntsville may be the ideal solution.

A bridge uses two healthy teeth to anchor dental crowns that support one or more prosthetic teeth in between. The prosthetic teeth “bridge” the gap left by one or multiple missing teeth, restoring chewing function and aesthetics.

How CEREC Same-Day Crowns Work

CEREC technology makes the restoration procedure quicker and more comfortable for our patients. We can scan your tooth and capture a 3-D image that eliminates the need for the messy and uncomfortable impressions we used in the past.

Dr. Booth uses the 3-D information to design your new crown or bridge. Then, our milling machine fabricates your new restoration according to Dr. Booth’s specifications.

Once your restoration is completed, Dr. Booth can permanently place it and make any necessary adjustments to ensure you have optimal bite function. The process takes approximately 60 to 90 minutes, and you’ll leave our Huntsville dental office with a brand-new crown or bridge that you can begin enjoying.
